Travel Day - We Made It!
It's been a long day, but we've completed our day of getting out of the country and find ourselves in Vancouver. We started the day with a chance to see Bryan run through a dress rehearsal of tomorrow night's performance (see end of yesterday's post). That's him on the far right of the picture... Go see the show on Sunday if you can -- it's a hoot and very well-done! Tyler took us to the airport and after getting sent from point A to point B, then finally to point C (because we're going on an INTERNATIONAL flight) we finally got checked in. First stop was Las Vegas where we needed to change planes. The flight from Vegas to Vancouver was delayed about an hour because it was TOO HOT in the plane. Apparently the AC was on the fritz, so they hooked the plane to a ground-based cooling unit and got it cooled down, but told us it would get very warm again when we pulled away from the gate. That did happen, but thankfully, we were leaving the 110+ degree temps of Vegas and Phoenix behind and headed for Canada where the pilot said the temp was 68 degrees. Mmmm....didn't that sound good!
Here's a picture of us in front of our "limo ride" from the airport to the hotel where we're staying the next two nights -- photo credit to the limo driver.
We got checked into the very nice hotel and found a place to have dinner, which we didn't finish up with until 11:15pm or so. It didn't get dark till almost 10, though, so it didn't feel that late.
Tomorrow we tour Vancouver...
To close, here's a picture of the Vancouver skyline from the Canada Place pier at dusk:
