All Good Things...

Well, folks, we're writing this one from home, where we returned safely on Monday night. WHAT an amazing vacation we have had.

Just to recap Sunday, we continued north from Glacier Bay into Prince William Sound and a place called College Fjord to see....more glaciers! The weather got a bit colder and the water seemed to be a bit icier. Oddly, we saw more glaciers here than in Glacier Bay, but didn't get as close to them, nor did we see much in the way of ice chunks falling into the water. Still, these are incredible sights to behold! As you can imagine, we have several more pictures than you see here. All told, we took over 700 pictures this trip....and that's beside the over 3 hours of video.

We did see a lot of sea otters here (picture below), so that was cool. Sorry that the otter picture isn't a bit better. I hollered out to them to wave at the camera, but they didn't seem to understand.

So our final day of cruising...our final day of menus in the dining room with no bill at the end of the meal, it's sad to have it end...

On Monday, they kicked us off the boat early (7:15am) into the cold and pouring rain of Whittier, Alaska. Kind of a cruel end, but the Princess folks took good care of us and shuttled us to their "hospitality center" in downtown Anchorage where we got to walk around the downtown area a bit and have some lunch, instead of hanging out in the airport. Thankfully, we escaped a salmon and bear attack in Anchorage.

We departed Anchorage and had a connecting flight through Seattle, so we got to see this awesome sight of Mount Rainier out the window of the airplane as we flew over (see below). It got dark after that and we made it home to our boys late on Monday night. We are all glad to be back together again, but we will never forget this awesome experience. Big thumbs up to the whole cruising experience and to the folks at Princess who seemed to really know what they were doing.

Also, a final HUGE thankyouandweloveyou goes out to Jocelyn's mom -- "Grandma Marge" -- without whom this trip would not have been possible. She was home with the boys and managing their calendars and taking them places and feeding them (and the dogs too) and all that goes with running a household in our absence.

Thanks to anyone that followed along on this blog!

Time for us to get back to reality and get to work on year 26 of our marriage!

So when are you having us over for a slideshow of all the pictures? (I am not referring to a major production - just clicking through slides and talking about the trip.)
